I am not a huge fan of New Years, they actually make me feel sad that another year of my life has gone by. Looking back at 2014, it was one of those life changing years for me.

– The biggest change of 2014 was leaving London and moving to Isle of Wight, a completely different place, surrounded by water. I love sea and beaches and sun but only for holidays. I have moved from a very busy city to a not busy at all city, our flat over looks River Medina and East Cowes Marina. Although the view outside our window is very beautiful but personally boats, rivers and sun sets make me feel very nostalgic. Anyway, its a life changing experience and I do hope to move back to the mainland very soon. After moving here, I started a blog called Isle of Wight Diaries, do have a look.

– The next biggest change was leaving the company I worked for, for  6 years. I learnt a lot from this place in terms of knowledge of finance and money but the biggest lesson for me was ‘people’. The reasons for leaving are not very pleasant and it makes me sad that it all ended on a very sad note. This was my first job in UK. Goodbyes are not my most favorite thing, I do miss that place but I wish it ended on a happier note. I have learnt that people at work are just people at work, they will never be your friends (there are exceptions) and will only use you for their own benefits. The moment that benefit is over, your relationship is over. I have seen masks, beautiful masks worn by the ugliest of people. Not ugly in outlook but ugly at heart. I can accept everything but one thing I just cannot stand is artificiality and injustice. It gives me a reason not to trust people, not anymore. I have become stronger, braver and have learnt to stand up for my self.

– I started blogging exactly one year ago and it has been the best part of 2014. I met such lovely people, fellow bloggers and celebrities. I met Mark Francis and Ollie Locke from Made in Chelsea.

I met Yuvraj Singh the Indian Cricketer.

Mimi and Alex Ikonn, the sensational blogger and youtuber couple, my inspiration.

I also won (now this is a big thing for me, you might laugh) the Bobbl UK hat on Twitter. Rosie Fortescue  personally tweeted to congratulate me. I really think Made in Chelsea is my lucky charm.

I met people from different brands and it was great working with them. Although it is quite amazing to receive free goodies and exclusive event invitations, but that is not the reason one should blog. One should blog only for the passion of writing about what one loves.

– Life is a mixture of sad and happy days but sometimes tragedy hits us and one such tragedy was losing my niece due to a prolonged illness. I always pray that parents are never tested through their children. This is one thing that totally breaks me up. Children suffering and dying is the most cruel thing ever.

– A huge shock that engulfed us was the murder of one of my class fellows from university back home in Islamabad, Pakistan. I don’t think any of us will ever come to terms with this tragedy, it is still a huge shock.

-But the biggest tragedy was the Peshawar School Attack back home, I as a mother can not fathom this incident. It has shaken everyone up, not just Pakistanis but I’m sure, the entire world. I hope and pray that my country, a country of a brave nation, a country of beautiful picturesque views and valuable resources, soon goes into the hands of more responsible people. It makes me really sad that Pakistan was once the most toured countries in the world. 15 years ago, life in Pakistan was totally different from what it is today.

In the end I want my thank my family, my husband and son for being the biggest asset in my life and for supporting me throughout the blogging journey. My son turned 2 in December, the most beautiful thing in my life is my son.

I would like to request everyone to pray for people who are being oppressed and brutally murdered for power and worldly gains all over the world.

Stay safe everyone, I pray that this year peace prevails in places where there is none.
