A shirt is a boring piece of clothing, yes, only if its not styled properly. You can do lots of things to make your shirt look interesting.

How to Choose A Shirt

Choosing a shirt should be the easiest task as you know what you like to wear. What colours you love. whether you like them plain or patterned.

Pick a shirt that is stylish, nail at the first step so you don’t have to work hard later. I chose a semi fitted shirt with neck tie. Its a colourful patterned silk shirt, so 80% of my job was already done.

But all is not lost if you choose a plain shirt. After I wore my shirt I realised I could only wear it with certain things. For example,  I couldn’t wear a statement necklace with this shirt as it would have gotten lost in between the colours.

If you are curvy and wish to look slimmer then choose a dark shirt with patterns. It will make you look slimmer.

Waist Coats and Blazers

It doesn’t matter what kind of a shirt you choose, it will always look very professional with a plain waist coat or a blazer. I personally think waist coats look very summery and smart. Blazers on the other hand look very officy and professional.

Waist coats or blazers, you can choose plain ones for patterned shirts or patterned ones for plain shirts. Try it, you’ll know what I mean . Although plain over plain looks very nice but I think pattern over pattern looks a bit too much. So choose something that doesn’t make you look all over the place.

Scarves and Bags

For scarves, the same rule applies. Wear a patterned scarf with a plain shirt and vice versa. As for bags, choose a bag that goes with all kinds of clothing. I prefer black, as it matches with everything you wear.

Trousers or Skirts?

I’ll leave that to you. It’s your personal preference as to what makes you feel more comfortable.

Jewellery

If you choose a patterned shirt like me, style it with a simple pendant and simple studs. You will look very elegant and complete.

If you choose a simple plain shirt then you have the great option to style it with a statement necklace. Imagine a simple white or light pink collar button down shirt with a lovely statement necklace. It will look beautiful. For earrings I would still stick to studs as I would want to show off my necklace.

And don’t forget your watch!

  1. This shirt looks gorgeous and you have styled it so well. I have a shirt which has the same material and colour like the one you’re wearing but the print is different. I like the fact that it has full sleeves, which is sometimes difficult to find.

  2. Hiya, I’m really glad I have found this information. Today bloggers publish only about gossips and net and this is actually irritating. A good website with exciting content, that is what I need. Thanks for keeping this site, I’ll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Can not find it.

  3. Hey! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established
blog. Is it tough to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick.
I’m thinking about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to
start. Do you have any points or suggestions? Cheers
