Today’s post is about how to layer yourself in style this winter. Winters are fast approaching and its time to start layering yourselves gradually. The best thing about winters is coats, scarves and of course tops and dresses.Another best thing about winters is thick checkered patterns. I love such patterns as they are quite nostalgic. It reminds of the old era when checks were almost everywhere. Tweed jackets are my absolute favourites.

WEARING: Dress, Coatigan and LeggingS: Apricot | Boots: Clarks | Hat: BKLYN

I carefully chose this tunic dress from Apricot Clothing and styled it with a coatigan. I chose around the same colours for both just to show some uniformity. I love to wear matching clothes. Very rarely do I like to contrast. You dont necessarily need to have a tunic dress to style in this way. Any dress or piece of clothing would do.

The other thing I chose were black ankle leggings. I love black leggings and tights as they match with everything. not only that, they also look very elegant. Black is the most used colour in winters as it absorbs heat, thus keeps you nice cosy and warm.

Last but not the least, I chose a Bobble Hat from BKLYN. They have an amazing quality and lots of colours to choose from. Its still quite warm to wear a hat but certainly invest in a cute Bobble hat.

How To Layer Yourself In Style These Winters

  • Choose a turtle neck from your wardrobe. Its best to have it in a variety of colours so you have a matching one with the dress you choose that day. The colours I personally like to have are black, brown, grey and blue. These will go with most of the dresses or tops you wear. Turtle necks also keep you nice and warm.
  • Next, choose a warm dress. The reason why its best to choose a dress because it covers most part of your body and keeps you warmer. Best if its up to the knees as it will give that extra coverage and warmth to your knees too. I personally like to wear long dresses with knee high boots as I always get painful knees in winters because of the cold weather.
  • Thirdly, choose a cardigan. There are many coatigans in fashion this Fall. Its a cardigan but looks like a coat. Definitely very trendy! I chose one from Apricot and they have them in so many designs, Again, have a variety of colour especially black as it goes with all the colours.
  • Before I move to coats, scarves, hats and gloves, lets talk about leggings. Choose leggings that are very thick. So thick that they almost look like trousers. Thick leggings also make you look and inch or two trimmer. I personally like to wear tights over thick leggings as I just don’t know how girls wear only tights in winters. Its so cold! Brrrr!
  • It is worth investing in very good leather boots for winters. When it comes to long boots, as I said, I love knee high boots as they keep me warm. You know which boots you personally like so go for ones you are comfortable walking in. I like flat ones or ones with a wedge as its easier to run for the train in London. hehe. Some people like to buy boots for just one season so they go for cheaper ones. That is also perfectly alright as trends keep changing. If you like quality over quantity then go for high end boots.
  • And don’t forget to wear your socks! 😉
  • As for coats, go with your personal style. Military coats are a really in thing these winters. So wear whatever you feel warm in.
  • Accessorise your look with a bag, scarf, gloves and hat. All very essential for winters.
