Pakora are a spicy snack made of gram flour, potatoes and different spices. Its more prevalent in Asian countries like India and Pakistan. People of every age love to eat pakora. It comes in the category of fast food.

Pakora have a great nostalgic value for people who love them. Its mostly associated with the monsoon season. When it rains, people make pakora and have them with tea. Pakora are also one of the main dish in the holy month of Ramadan.

I thought it will be great to share the recipe with you so here is the recipe.

Pakora:

  • Gram Flour 1 cup
  • Red chillies 1tbsp
  • Salt 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1/3 tsp
  • 1 Potato thinly sliced
  • Onion thinly sliced
  • Water
  • Oil to fry

Dip:

  • Mint Leaves
  • Yogurt
  • Salt and Chilli powder to taste

Pakora Recipe

Take a bowl and put gram flour, turmeric powder, salt and chilli powder in it. Now mix all the ingredients by adding water little by little in the bowl. Keep mixing until all the ingredients are mixed appropriately. Put it in the fridge for half an hour. Now, heat the oil in a pan. Dip thinly sliced potatoes and onions in the mixture. Take small amount on the spoon and make sure the potatoes are completely covered in the batter. Deep fry in the oil. Take them out when they are golden brown. It almost takes 5 minutes to fry the pakoras. Now place them in the plate and serve them with mint sauce or ketchup.

Dip Recipe:

Grind the mint leaves with mortar and pesto. You can also use a mini blender or an electric grinder. Once it changes into a fine paste, mix it in yogurt along with the salt and chilli powder.

Sit back relax and enjoy the pakora.

Additionally you can also have them with ketchup or bar b que sauce.

You can also replace potatoes with aubergine slices.
