Random Facts About Me

random facts

Random Facts posts are very interesting and engaging.

So here are 10 Random facts about me. Enjoy!

1- I almost died when I was born. Yes. My aunt was giving me a bath and I inhaled a huge amount of soap which led me to the Emergency Room. Luckily, me and mum were still in the hospital (post c-section birth) so I was saved (as you can probably see =p).

2- I was born in Lahore in Pakistan. Lahore is the cultural capital of Pakistan famous for its forts and palaces. It was the capital of Mughal Dynasty that ended when the Britishers took over India. (Yes I know my history lessons =).

3- I was born and raised as a Muslim.

4- My dad is a paediatrician and my husband is also a doctor. The only 2 doctors in our entire family. (And no we are not rich!)

5- I have a bachelor’s degres in Bioinformatics i.e. Biology (in depth study of Genes & DNA) Advanced Mathematics and Computer Programming. I aspired to become a Geneticist and/or a Forensic Scientist. But I could not pursue it as I moved to England and was the sole bread winner for my family. (Yes it was around the recession time).

6- I had an emergency C-Section. My first ever major/minor operation.

7- I didn’t know the sex of my baby until ‘he’ was born.

8- I faced major discrimination at work after having my son. I was forced to leave my job of 6 years. Sadly this very silently happens in every work place and very unfortunately lawyers are cashing on it. After this ordeal I developed stress and anxiety that I am dealing with very bravely.

9- I am a London blogger currently residing on the Isle of Wight so if you are a blogger and are ever around, do give me a nudge!

10- I almost got to see the Queen when I attended Pakistan vs South Africa Cricket Match back home in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. She was visiting in the late 90s and I was there representing my school. Sadly she was late and I couldn’t see her.
