Mestizo Address:

103 Hampstead Rd, Kings Cross, London NW1 3EL

On 31st of July, I made my way to Mestizo in Euston. It’s hardly a minute’s walk from Warren Street Station on the Vitoria Line. Mestizo is a family-run business. It’s a multi-level Mexican restaurant, bar and marketplace. Mestizo celebrated the one-year anniversary of its marketplace with a VIP press party where I took my half Mexican blogger friend April as a plus one. Mestizo Mexican Market & Food Euston London

WHAT I WORE

I dressed up in a beautiful kimono dress sent to me by Closet London. It was a slightly cool breeze so I decided to wear my brand new Red Trench Coat.

I styled the dress with white trousers from Pull & Bear and flat lace-up pumps from TopShop.

And last but not the least, the cross body snake effect bag is from Carvela Kurt Geiger.

We were welcomed with a cool drink of Hibiscus Flower which was the first one for me but it was delicious. Mestizo Mexican Market & Food Euston London

The theme of the experiential fiesta was ‘market in a market’ and it was the best way to experience all that Mestizo had to offer. There were six stalls to explore the spirited culture of Mexico.

Each stall represented an element of the marketplace – from art to fashion, interior to food & drink, plus a healthy dose of culture. All the products were sourced from independent retailers in Mexico.

THE CHILLI CHALLENGE

April & I tested our limits by sampling the spiciest chilli from Mexico and then quenched the burn with a glass of fresh Hibiscus water. It was not hard as I’m used to eating spicy Pakistani food. I must say, Mexicans eat even more spicy food than us Pakistanis. Mestizo Mexican Market & Food Euston London

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS MASK PAINTING

We also celebrated the artistry of the Mexican Day of the Dead holiday where we were given a cardboard cut out mask to colour and paint in. I went for a more girly look.

MEXICAN NAIL ART

A nail artist was on-site throughout the evening to buff, polish and design our nails into works of art with a Mexican spin. But, I didn’t avail this beautiful opportunity.

There was also a DJ on the decks playing Mexican music and a live performance by Mexican dancers.
