Valentines Day: How To Dress Up Your Guy

Valentines Day is a beautiful day, full of love and peace. Its all about exchanging gifts, roses and chocolates. Best is when its all from a secret admirer. No, not a stalker but a real admirer.

Valentines Day is right around the corner and you might be planning on getting ready for the big day. Naturally, you’re going to want to look your best, which means you’ll need your guy to look his best as well. If your man is packing a little extra padding from too much V-day candy, there are still plenty of ways to have him looking sharp on the special day.

Help Find Him a Tailor

Valentines Day is all about dressing up and looking nice. One of the top fashion tips for any guy is finding a good tailor, and this is especially true for big and tall men. Finding clothes that actually fit is perhaps the most important thing for plus-size men, particularly with suits. Art Of  Manliness places a proper fit as its number-one tip for dressing well for large men, and they point out that baggy clothes only add to any unwanted bulk. A well-cut suit will complement the best of your man while helping to minimise any problem areas.

Bigger is Better for Big Guys

For plus-size guys, proportion is key and much of this extends to accessories. A small watch on a big wrist just makes him look like a giant, and not in a good way. In the same token, skinny ties will make your man’s chest look way bigger than it actually is. It’s recommended that you go with a tie that has a three-inch width—or skip the tie altogether. Surprise him with a watch with an oversized face or a nice wide tie.

Punch Things Up With Patterns

One good way to keep your guy looking great is with a sharp pattern, but you don’t want anything too bold. It’s hard to beat a classic plaid that will have your guy looking rustic and rugged. Plaids work well for both big and tall men by looking good and making a statement without drawing too much unnecessary attention to where it isn’t wanted. It’s no wonder that plaid patterns are regularly among the top five styles at King Size Direct with a variety of colours and patterns that are sure to add an extra boost to any big guy’s wardrobe.

Style Him in a Spread Collar

There’s a good chance your guy probably doesn’t have enough good dress shirts, and it’s also likely he wouldn’t about receiving a nice button-down or two. For plus-size guys, a spread collar is the way to go. The wider collar looks more proportional around your man’s face and neck. As an added bonus, it also better complements the wider tie that we mentioned earlier.

Looking Cool & Confident With Colour

Another great way to add some pizzazz to your plus-size man’s outfit is by adding a dash of colour to his wardrobe. Black is definitely slimming, but your guy doesn’t need to go full Goth. Fashion Beans points out that any dark color will work wonders, and you should try to expand you man’s palette with some navy blues, burgundies, greens and grays.
