Walking through Seven Dials the other day for Fashion Feast I stopped at a booth to check out some hair products; when suddenly a woman turned to me to say ‘So you’re the one who smells so good!’

Something has to be said for a fragrance that creates conversation between strangers in London, a city that can be notoriously introverted in public situations.

I was wearing the new English Freesia Eau de Toilette fragrance which just felt so right to wear on a summery day in London.  It was one of those rare days where you can go without even a light jacket, feel sunlight on your skin and a breeze through your hair, perfect in every way.

When I got up that morning the sunlight streamed through my bathroom window and glanced through the golden yellow liquid of the freesia.  I confidently spritzed a dash on each wrist and temple and it proved to be just what I needed!

About Yardley:

Yardley London is a quintessentially English perfumery that has been making delicate fragrances since 1770.  Right now there is a trend in perfumes for vintage florals, and I love how this is echoed in the simple bottle and vintage floral detail on the top of the bottle’s lid. It would fit perfectly on anyone’s vanity table or medicine cabinet.

What’s In Yardley English Freesia Perfume?

This fragrance’s top notes are of bergamot, lemon, mandarin; and the ‘heart notes’ combine freesia, lily of the valley, ginger and pepper; this is enhanced with base notes of warm, sensual base of sandalwood, musk and amber.

The fragrance’s namesake flower, Freesia, is the 7th wedding anniversary flower and also symbolises friendship.  It has a sweet, delicate and citrusy scent.  In fact; the botanist who discovered the flower, Christian P. Ecklon, named the flower after his good friend Frederich Freese. What a cool story!

This would be an amazing gift to give a good friend with such sweet symbolism and lasts far longer than real flowers.  It would get a lot of use as it is an anytime scent and has a glamorous vintage look yet won’t break the bank at the same time.
