We all have those days where getting up in the morning just feels a little harder than usual. Our tiredness can hang off us like a shroud, but that doesn’t mean that we want to show it to the world. When you’re feeling a little low on energy but still want to look alert and sharp, then you want to make sure that your eyes aren’t giving the game away. Here are a few tips to ensure they look bright and lively, even when you’re feeling the opposite.

Utilize The Right Eye Creams

A good eye cream can make a huge difference in how tired your eyes look, especially o nthose low energy mornings. For instance, you might want to look for formulas that have ingredients like caffeine (which reduces puffiness), peptides (to improve firmness), and hyaluronic acid (to hydrate the skin and minimize fine lines). You don’t need a lot to do its magic, just a small amount that you gently apply using your ring finger, tapping it in rather than rubbing. Hydrating your eyes is going to make them look a lot more refreshed.

Use A Little Cold Therapy

When you’re overly tired, your eyes can look swollen due to all that puffiness, and might even feel heavier than usual. When that happens, cold therapy can work miracles. A lot of people use a chilled spoon, but a jade roller or even a gel eye mask can help just as well. The cold constricts the blood vessels around the eye, reducing that puffiness and redness in a very short amount of time. Even just 30 to 60 seconds of cold exposure in the morning can do a lot to help your eyes shake off that sleepiness.

Offer Them A Little Visual Comfort

It’s not just the skin around the eyes, but the eyes themselves that you should soothe, as well. Rather than glasses, which can feel heavy and shadowed under their frames, you might want to look into wearing coloured contact lenses, which can not only immediately start taking the strain off your eyes, but can also alter your eyes’ appearance so that you look more focused and alert right at the start of the morning. Take care of your eyes, avoiding exposure to harsh blue light too early in the morning, as well.

Get The Sleep You Need

This might seem contrary to the points above (because it is), but it’s important to bear in mind that no trick or product can fully replace good sleep. Eventually, darkness, puffiness, and dullness around the eyes are going to be too difficult to hide. Improve your sleep patterns by aiming for more consistent bedtimes, even during the weekend, and try to reduce screentime an hour before bed so that you’re more naturally able to drift off when you lie down.

Enough time without getting the rest you need can make it harder and harder to disguise your tiredness. The tips above can help from time to time, but try not to rely on them too much in the long run.
