A few weeks ago, we were having Iftar (break of fast in Ramadan) in Nandos, High Street Kensington. The waiter, a nice Afghani chap, while clearing our table asked us if we had any interest in cricket, we said, of course, yes! Then he pointed towards someone and said, that guy is a cricketer and yes, it was Yuvraj Singh, the Indian cricketer. I have never personally met a cricketer before. I have seen Imran Khan, twice when he came to our school for a fund raiser. I have also watched Pakistan vs South Africa back in 1998. Thats it.
I do not get star struck at all but this time I thought, naah, I have to get a picture taken with him so I pushed my sister to ask him if we could get a picture taken as she is good at these things. Ee went downstairs in the basement where he was sitting , pretending we wanted to use the toilet. haha! My sister finally asked him and he without any hesitation said yes. I found him to be quite humble and down to earth. He asked us where we were from and we said, Pakistan. He asked where in Pakistan, we said Islamabad. He asked are you visiting or do you live here, we said, we live here. I think he wanted to talk more but we had to get going so we thanked him for his time and went home.
