It’s hard to find a woman who is satisfied with her appearance. They usually have a problem with extra pounds and will never understand what problems can skinny women have. But, if you’re one of them, you’re aware of all difficulties “twiggy” girls may encounter while creating the perfect look.

So, here’re some tips on how to cover up all your skinny-flaws and get the most out of that body shape, without gaining weight.

Cover up your arms

If your arms are too skinny, a long-sleeved shirt in some bright colour or pattern will hide it. Horizontal stripes can be very helpful as well, because they may seem like they’re adding some curves to your body (unlike vertical stripes that can make your body look even thinner).

You may also consider choosing a shirt with volume or batwing sleeves which will highlight your shape.

Find the perfect dress and/or skirt

The most simple and effective way to look fabulous is to find a dress that suits you perfectly. For skinny girls the peplum style, shift or empire-waist dresses may be the best choice. The only important thing is to add some volume to shoulders and hips.

When it comes to skirts, try out models like bubble, flared and A-line skirts. The length of the skirt should match your height.

Opt for right jeans

Not every model of pants will look good on a skinny girl, so avoid skinny pants. Instead, it’s recommended to go for a boot-leg, boot-cuts or straight-cut jeans.

If you like to wear short shorts, they should be of the right size – not too tight and not too wide. Otherwise, your legs will look like a pair of sticks.

Shoes do matter

If you’re skinny and tall, avoid wearing high heels, because not only will you look taller, but you will also look thinner. Instead, find some nice pair of flats that may easily be combined with various outfits.

If you can’t imagine yourself so close to the ground, pick shoes with lower heels, preferably in some bold colour or with some interesting print, so they can draw attention away from your skinny legs.

Add-ons

There are numerous fashion accessories that can help you in achieving your goal. Feel free to experiment with various prints, colour, accessories and details from Mecque (like pleats, ruffles, twists), but better avoid wearing baggy clothes, oversized skirts or any other piece that can make you look even skinnier than you already are. Since it’s all an illusion, if you would feel more comfortable with extra clothes, opt for layering and make your body appear fuller.
If you think that you have problematic body constitution, include some recommended garments in your wardrobe and cast aside the other ones which can’t help you in achieving the desired look. Also, don’t forget to pay attention to colours. Avoid clothes of darker shades, especially black, because they will make you look slimmer. You can also have some fun with contrasting colours.

The most important thing is that the clothes fit you properly. So, if you have difficulties with finding the right size, you can always have your clothes tailored to suit your measures. Knowing your own body shape, being aware of your flaws and attributes and following these tips will help you look great for any occasion.
