Last week we visited Weymouth. It is a beautiful beach, not the conventional Bournemouth or Brighton but a more family oriented one. We took the South Western Train from London Waterloo Station to Weymouth Station and the BnB we stayed in was hardly 7 minutes walk. It was a nice walk along the main road, across which was the beach.
We stayed in Sea Spray ,a Bed n Breakfast owned by Paul and Diane. They were both lovely and the breakfast was good. They were very welcoming and helpful, especially the day we checked out, our train was at 6:30pm, they themselves offered us to leave our luggage and fetch it closer to the train time.
Sea Spray is situated on the sea front and our room overlooked the sea. The site was very beautiful.
Weymouth is a very happening place, full of families and children having a nice time. There were many rides on the sandy beach and lots of other activities. The weather was beautiful.
Attractions include Sea Life, Weymouth Tower, Nothe Fort, Cruises to Gurnesey, Jersey and St Malo and some neighboring areas like Portland and Swanage.
There are lots of different places to eat, but you will be very unlucky if you want some halal chicken or lamb because there are none, even the Turkish restaurant there was not halal. Some Indian places claimed they were halal but in fact they were not. We ended up eating Fish and Chips or vegetarian sandwiches from Marks and Spencer or the good old Fillet o Fish from McDonalds.
Surprisingly, there was no GBK, Pizza Express or Pret A Manger our usual saviors when halal food is not available.
For the first time I had a bit of a dip and swim in the sea while my son played with the sand. It was fun and yes we both have quite a tan, again for the first time in my life.
The high street was quite busy but again there was no Primark. There were temporary tattoo stalls and colourful braid stalls. The high street was very busy and colourful.
